Past few weeks...

Have been very busy! I have two nephews who are getting married in the fall and their brides' showers were Today and last Saturday. I made the each a few things but didn't get one done because I was bitten by a brown recluse spider last Sunday! YIKES! I am feeling much better after antibiotics and steroids. A friend had just sent out a message warning about bites from this spider and after abut 24 hours, my bite looked just like the pics so I knew to head for the dr.

Now on to the fun stuff. First shower was for Katie who is marrying my nephew Brian. I helped my SIL with a few of the decorations - Favor tags (pictured) , Menus, TU notes, (similar note cards are Pictured - Katie's shower was a tea) and a banner. Also made her a purse to match her dress. Can't show pics of the whole doll, but here is a head shot of Katie Kat. I dressed her in a "copy" of Katie's dress.

Lastly, I made a Gift Card House for the reception. Unfortunately, I didn't get the Gift Card House done before the shower for Michele but on the bright side, it was one less thing for them to store before the wedding! Here are Michele's purse, TU Cards (can you tell her colors are Purple and Purple?), and Doll (face only of course!) but I think I can sneak in a pic of her shoes!

Remember my Paisley Purse???

Well, it is being featured on Jennifer blog, Periwinkle Paisley. I a so thrilled I added a paisley background! Check out her etsy shop too - very beautiful stuff! Thanks Jennifer, you made my week!

Big thanks for the kind words about my Modern Gladiator Bra. It really was fun to make. I got large rivet brads but decided not to use them, so it is DONE!!! Thanks again.

Metal Bra Done!

Here are pics of the finished Metal Plated Bra. My dear friend and fearless leader of WTWW Victoria Adams Brown gave me a great story for it based on a Gladiator. Looks like a Gladiator's bra! I used cabachons made from clay, embossing powders, Textiva, UTEE, and Gold Leaf in the center and on the straps. I wrapped them in the metal tape. I also loaded lots more bra pics on the WTWW site last night. They are all remarkable! Visit the site and be amazed!

ArtBras done and in progress

I completed another ArtBra. The working title is Flower Fairies Folly. The flower faces are clay from a pressmold. The flower petals are cut from Fabric on a Sizzix with a couple of dies including a new one by Tim Holtz from lace and sheer fabric then hit with alcolhol inks for more depth. The leaves are done the same way. The vine was also given a little more color with the Alcohol inks. The little fairies are made with pipecleaners, silk flower parts, wooden bead heads and feather hair.

I am also working on another bra inspired by a technique used to create a table top. Check it out here. Is this not awesome? Christie also has a utube tutorial on how to create these tiles. I used sticky back silver metal tape from Ed's workshop and a cuttlebug folder to make 1 1/2" tiles, sprayed them gold, added alcohol ink color, sanded the top to reveal the silver again and then added heat set crystal jewels. I covered the bra with a metallic gold lame then added spray-paint silver accents. The alcolhol inks didn't give me the amount of color I wanted, so I used Shiva Paint sticks to dull down the gold and add color highlights. Now to somehow put it together and do something with the straps!
