Playing with paper again

I saw a two versions of this square pop up card made and posted by Shelly Hickox on her blog http://shellyhickox.blogspot.com.  These were made from a tutorial on Split coast Stampersanonymous (she gives this link).  My dear friend and her husband host a wonderful Super Bowl Party each year and I felt they need a special thank you so I made this card.

Closed ready for mailing.  I added a small envelope to the back for a tiny note.  Really pleased with this!  And used lots of my premade flowers and punches.  The blue flowers are from a punch.  Love how lacy they are.

Distraction

Cleaning off my work table and found this.  At first, I couldn't remember what it was supposed to be

Then I remembered so I made this.  Pincushion dress form I designed for 2013 Day With Dolls.

Now I have together back to work.

Play day Monday

Yesterday spent a great day with my friends Janet and Mabel working on Valentine Mini Books.  What a great way to pass the time.  And did I mention lots of laughs!

And their books came out great!  Wish I had taken pics of their finished pages as they were wonderful. Snowed in today, so I am working on finishing my book with all the items I put in the kits.  Also between glue, paint and glitter drying, kitting up the Mermaid doll.

New Class at the Artsy Soul

Scheduled for Feb 1, 2014.  She is mixed media.  Her face is a stamp, her body is colored with stenils we will create inclass and archival inks, markers and glitter glue.  She is shown with a clay piece on herchest, but the possiblitlities are endless.  She has an aluminum wire rmature which makes her poseable and as you can see, she can stand alone.  Her face can also be drawn and colored.  She is simple to sew, a pancake body and head.  Minimum sewing skills required.  The Artsy Soul is located in  NJ.  Call Colleen to reserve  a spot 609 549-6350.  prework required.

Hostess Gift

 We have some wonderful friends who host a Holiday party every year.  This year we arranged for a sitter for my MIL so we could go together and stay-I usually only stay an hour.  Well, the snow kept us home, but we did enjoy the Brown Bottoms and Chocolate cream pie I made.  I also always bring a handmade hostess gift.  This year it was to be this bird house ornament.  The number is their house number.  It is made from chipboard and paper, cut with a Sizzix die.

 Face is a digital image made from my tiny snow leopard doll.  made 12 of these.  Was trying a technique for the bachground using watercolor paper, dry embossing and gesso which I didn't put on thick enough.  But they came out ok.
